Most non-professional violinists replace the violin strings about every three to six months. More serious students and professionals change strings more frequently, sometimes every two months. Since this routine maintenance task takes place so often, it makes sense for musicians to learn how to do it themselves. It’s important to remember to change your strings in any order you choose, but one at a time. This allows a clear process with more balanced tension across the bridge. The sound post depend on string tension to stay in it’s proper position. Feel free to message me with any questions.
